Den of Geek: Have you had discussions about future appearances for Moriarty? I don’t want to spoil anything, and I’d imagine the chronology is something that can be played with anyway. But just wondering if any chats have taken place?

Andrew Scott: We have. It’s very interesting on that score. You go, what’s the right thing to do? How much do you use Moriarty, and much do you protect him? I’m starting to feel very protective of that. I think his power is that he’s not overused, but then you want to have some fun with him as well. I think the balance of that in series two is nice. (x)

so remember how we were all (by which i mean maybe four of us) stressing about the possibility of moffat going for some cheap plot turn with moriarty in series three? i found this incredibly comforting. i enjoy that andrew scott says he’s “protective” about how moriarty is used. i’d like to think that if moffat tried to approach him with some douche twist ascott would just be like “LOL, no.” andrew scott: #1 moriarty avenger, he’s one of us, flawless man, etc.
